Support for Projects
IR&D provides assistance to faculty and/or units interested in becoming involved in international project work. Staff at IR&D have experience in working with major donor agencies and in the design and delivery of international projects. We can offer significant assistance in the following areas:
- Identification of project opportunities and funding sources
- Project design
- Project proposal development (both narrative and budgetary sections)
- Liaison with donor agency personnel regarding funding processes
- Advice on project delivery, implementation and management issues
University members interested in pursuing external support for international projects are encouraged to contact IR&D at the earliest stages of project development.
IR&D also facilitates Dalhousie's participation in externally-funded student mobility and youth internship programs. Ongoing opportunities include:
- Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC)'s International Academic Mobility (IAM) Programs:
- Canada-EU Program for Cooperation in Higher Education and Training
- Program for North American Mobility in Higher Education (NAMHE)
- Academic exchange opportunities funded by the Dept. of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT)
- CIDA’s International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)
- AUCC’s Students for Development program, funded by CIDA
Faculty members interested in any of these mobility and internship programs should contact IR&D for more information.
